Requirements for Deferral

  1. Must be younger than 31 as of 6/15/12
  2. Must have entered US before the age of 16
  3. Must have been in US for 5 continuous years
  4. Must be At Least 15 years old
  5. NO serious criminal history
  6. Must be US high school graduate, earned GED, served in US military, or be enrolled in school or enrolled in a GED program
  7. Must pass government background check
  8. If you have a current or prior deportation or removal case you may be eligible for deferred action – talk to an expert

USCIS (US Immigration and Citizenship Services) is directed to begin implementing this process within 60 days of the June 15, 2012 memorandum.
